Top 10 catchers

This is a list of the top 10 catchers of all-time. Two that almost made it: Brad Ausmas and Joe Mauer.

10. Gary Carter.
Gary Carter played 19 seasons in the Major Leagues. He was an all-star 11 times. He also won 3 gold gloves and 5 silver sluggers. Gary had a fielding percentage of .991.

9. Bill Dickey
Bill Dickey played 17 seasons and was an all-star 11 times. He has made 108 errors in 9,027 chances and has a fielding percentage of .988. He also has a career batting average of .313

8. Mickey Cochrane
Mickey Cochrane played 13 seasons and was the MVP twice. He made 111 errors in 7,365 chances and has a fielding percentage of .985. He also has a batting average of .330

7. Ivan Rodriguez
Ivan Rodriguez played 21 seasons so far, 14 of them all-star seasons. He has 12 gold gloves and 7 silver slugger awards. He also won an MVP award. He has the most games as a catcher with 2,390 and a career batting average of .297. But he hit over .300 10 times. He has made 139 errors in 16,004 chances and has a fielding percentage of .991.




6. Mike Piazza

Josh Gibson played in the negro leagues so I don't know any of his records, but he is supposed to have over 800 homeruns. If he would have played in the major leagues, he would be #1 on this list.






1. Johnny Bench
Johnny bench played 17 seasons and was an all-star 14 times. He was a rookie of the year and a National League MVP twice. He has 10 gold gloves and is 15th in games caught with 1,742, but played 2,193 games total. He has a fielding percentage of .987 and has the 2nd most homeruns by a catcher with 389.
